Remember CrossFit`s early compression equipment? Apparently, CrossFit had some sort of agreement with SKINS that lasted until 2014. In the agreement with Reebok, the athletes only had to wear Reebok clothing. The only exception was SKINS. It is not entirely clear whether CrossFit or Reebok have decided not to renew their contract, but Glassman is clear that there will be no more sponsor for at least a few years. So you can look forward to a good old-season CrossFit Games in 2021. In addition to the awards to the best athletes at the CrossFit Games, Reebok must spend a minimum amount each year on athlete recommendations. Reebok has the right to sign a contract with the winner of the CrossFit Games each year. If Reebok does not reach an agreement with the winner (i.e. Mat Fraser), Reebok will have to use the money for different athletes. Reebok, part of the Adidas Group, told Footwear News in a statement: ”Our partnership with CrossFit HQ will end this year. We recently discussed a new agreement, but in light of recent events, we have made the decision to end our partnership with CrossFit HQ. We will meet our remaining contractual commitments in 2020.

Thanks to CrossFit`s complaint that Reebok did not pay a formal fee through a licensing and sponsorship agreement, we can finally see what both parties agreed to. As a title sponsor, Reebok`s name should be added to the CrossFit Games. The agreement says in the language that it should be called ”The CrossFit Reebok Games”, but that both sides must agree on the final form. Of course, this is now The Reebok CrossFit Games, which sounds much better and less in corporate ownership. The licensing and sponsorship agreement signed in September 2010 was attached to CrossFit`s official appeal as Schedule A.
